nere.nu answers a simple question: is this website down for everyone, or just me?

What makes us different?

Privacy First

Unlike many status checkers, we don't track you. No advertising cookies, no behavioral profiling, no third-party trackers. We run analytics in cookie-less mode on our own servers (Matomo), and your IP address is hashed before storage.

Honest Status Signals

Many status checkers mark a site as "up" if it returns any HTTP response — including 5xx errors. We call a site "down" when it's actually broken (5xx errors, timeouts, DNS failures), not when it returns a 503 Service Unavailable and pretends everything is fine.

We also detect CDN challenge pages (like Cloudflare's "Just a moment") and correctly identify them as the site being up but protected.

Smart Incident Analysis
